Les Plongeons Casse´

with Hannah Palmquist Hite, Harp

Dr. Hannah Hite originally hails from Tucson, AZ. She began her piano studies at the age of 4 and fell in love with the harp at age 6. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Music History, Theory, and Criticism from The University of Arizona in 2012. Upon graduating, she went on to pursue post-baccalaureate music education studies in Minnesota at Martin Luther College. She earned a Master of Music in Harp Performance from The University of Minnesota in 2018 and a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Minnesota in 2020. Hannah was a featured solo performer at the IV Rio Harp Festival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and at the 2010 Shanghai World Expo in Shanghai, China. As a Medici Scholar during her undergraduate years, she pursued chamber music studies at the British Isles Music Festival under the tutelage of faculty from the Royal College of Music in London. 

As a chamber musician, Hannah has commissioned works by Theresa Martin and Katherine Bergman. Dr. Hite has been featured as a soloist with the Civic Orchestra of Tucson, the Tucson Pops Orchestra, and the University of Minnesota Symphony Orchestra. 

Hannah currently serves as a K-8 music teacher in Arizona. She works with close to 500 students per week, teaching both instrumental and choral music. Dr. Hite is also passionate about sustainability and environmental law. She obtained a Master of Legal Studies degree in Sustainability Law from Arizona State University in 2022. 

Brewhaus Duo

with Emily Brewer, saxophone

Emily and Chris met in 2018, and have since collaborated on a list of saxophone duo repertoire by composers Reed, Engebretson, Murata, Bergman, and others.

Emily Brewer is a saxophonist and educator based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree from St. Norbert College and a Master of Music degree from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Emily is a strong advocate for diversity and inclusion in music education, and new music. She has also joined commissioning projects to promote underrepresented composers within the classical music realm. She has performed in various ensembles affiliated with the National Band Director Association, the College Band Directors National Association, the American Saxophone Academy, and the Minnesota Music Educators Association. Emily has also performed as a soloist and chamber musician at various North American Saxophone Alliance conferences. Recipient of first prize in the Richard Chandler YouTube Recording Competition, Emily is also the recipient of a prize from the Schubert Club Woodwind Competition. Emily is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree and a Music Education Certificate at the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Her primary instructors have been Dr. Preston Duncan and Dr. John Salerno. She teaches Woodwind Techniques at the University of Minnesota and maintains a studio of private lesson students in the greater Twin Cities area. 

The Questionable Duo

with Sarah Weisbrod, flute

Sarah Weisbrod and Chris Dickhaus formed The Questionable Duo in 2019 to pursue an unconventional chamber music experience. Meeting at the University of Minnesota, they have worked with local composers; sharing a desire to add great works to the canon of duo repertoire.

Sarah Weisbrod is the Instructor of Flute at Bemidji State University, and is currently finishing a Master of Music in flute performance at the University of Minnesota. Weisbrod holds a Bachelor of Music, cum laude, in flute performance with a minor in computer science from Concordia College, Moorhead, MN. Her primary teachers include Immanuel Davis and Debora Harris.
